Talk about your eating habits
Are they the same as most people´s in your country?
Do you know anything about the British and the Americans´ table manners ?
How do you feel about fast food?

This is the description of the food habits in your country which is pretty similar to my own.
In our country daily meals usually start with breakfast. It consists of something to drink, such as tea with sugar and lemon, warm or cold milk or a cocoa. Most people have for their breakfast something, which is not "too heavy" for their stomach. It can be several slices of bread, rolls or buns with jam, cheese, eggs, ham, salami, many kinds of fruit, such as oranges, apples, bananas, grapefruits and so on... Quite a lot of people eat cereal to cornflakes with ingredients like yoghurt, chocolate, fresh stewed fruit, walnuts, hazelnuts or simply with fresh milk. We must always remember, that breakfast is very important for our health. Many people haven´t breakfast, because they don´t have time for it, they have to go to the work early. It is very big fault, which can damage your health forever. Breakfast must be light and easily digestible.
Around noon it is lunchtime... We can have something sweet before lunchtime as a snack. Most people, especially students, take their meals at the school canteen. According to my own experience I must say, that the conditions there are terrible! Everything must be eaten in a hurry and there is a lot of noise. People, which are older and have their own jobs must have a lunchbreak. It is usually one hour long. They prefer going to restaurant or having fast food in a McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken or in Pizza Hut, which is very popular in the United States. But I assume that these meals are neither healthy nor substantial. Soups may be either vegetable (potato, tomato, pea, bean, carrot, parsley, celery, mushrooms) or meat teas (beef tea, tripe, chicken, hen). The main dish can be either sweet such as fruit dumplings or pancakes with jam and cream. Or we can have some meat (beef, pork, veal, mutton, lamb) with some vegetables such as potatoes, chips, rice, Czech dumpling, pasta or bread. More healthy fish and poultry are slowly replacing beef and pork. It?s healthy to drink at least one glass of mineral water, juice, tea or beer, after each meal. Scientists recommend drinking at least two litres of water per a day. It is also recommended to have one glas of vine, because it helps absorb the meal.
In the afternoon it is recommended to have at least one snack. Something sweet and healthy, for example some candy bar. Or some fresh fruit, which you can buy on some market. The break between lunchtime and dinnertime is too long and if you have an active style of your life, you could be very hungry and exhausted.
At six or seven in the evening comes time for dinner. At this time the entire family is usually together. People often prepare warm dishes, but I prefer some cold dish. Bread and rolls with ham, cheese, butter and a lot of fruit. On some occasions we even go out to restaurants. There we can choose from a menu of various dishes. Roast pork with sauerkraut and dumplings, chicken with rice, fried pork chops with mashed potatoes, filet of fish with potato salad, roasted sirloin beef in sour cream sauce and Czech dumplings. For variety we can order a vegetable salad prepared from tomatoes or cucumbers, stewed fruits or a dessert.
While cooking we may add various spices such as garlic, marjoram, pepper, ketchup, vinegar, mustard, onions, and so on. It is not recommended to eat after the dinner, especially in the late evening hours. The body is naturally preparing for the sleep and some next meals causes, that the stomach "have some work to do" and it can seriously damage your health. It also can cause some sleeping problems, absorbing problems and so on...

Are they the same as most people´s in your country?
Don’t understand the question!!
Do you know anything about the British and the Americans´ table manners ?
In different parts of Britain people have different eating habits. Most of them have five or six meals a day: breakfast, elevenses, lunch, tea, dinner and later perhaps supper.
The British like to begin the day with a cup of coffee or tea. Then they have a leisurely breakfast. The traditional English breakfast starts with cereals - cornflakes with milk or porridge, an oats pudding, which is very tasty and nourishing. This can be followed by fried bacon and eggs or sausages with grilled tomatoes. They round off with many cups of tea or coffee and a marmalade toast.
Nowadays such a breakfast is not very common, only at weekends, when people have more time. Most Englishmen prefer lighter and quicker meal and have a bowl of cornflakes, toast and marmalade, and coffee or tea, of course.
Later in the morning they have elevenses, which is usually not more than a cup of tea and biscuits. Sometimes, often at weekends, when they get up later, they have brunch, a combination meal, which is eaten for breakfast and lunch.
The midday meal is called the lunch and is usually fairly light, consisting of a warm dish and a dessert, or just ham and cheese sandwiches and some fruit.
Around four o’clock in the afternoon the English have teatime. The meal consists of thin slices of bread and butter with cheese, fish, ham, or a meat paste, perhaps some vegetables as lettuce or tomatoes. This is followed by jam, tarts or cakes. Then there are several cups of strong tea with milk.
Dinner, the main meal, is served in the evening at around 7 o’clock, when all members of the family are at home. It may have three or four courses. The meal consists of soup, fried fish and chips or meat with vegetables. Beef, mutton and lamb are preferred to pork in England. The English cookery is famous for meat puddings and meat pies, which are usually served at dinner. As a dessert they can have a fruit salad, a pie, jelly, custard or ice cream.
Later in the evening more tea, cocoa, milk, sandwiches, cold meat or biscuits may be eaten as supper.
Recently there have been great changes in eating habits. English favorites, sausages, fried eggs, bacon and chips are on decline, as many people think that too much fat may cause diseases such as diabetes and heart disease or spoil their figures. Therefore they drink more skimmed milk, prefer fibrous brown bread to white one, eat less butter and cut down meat. About 10 % of all young people are now vegetarian.

It is difficult to say what American people prefer for their meals, because the United States is a country with many different ethnic groups with different eating habits. Many popular dishes, which are considered typically American, are of foreign origin and were brought to America by Italian, Mexican, Greek, Turkish, Chinese and other people.
The breakfast usually consists of juice or coffee, eggs, toast, fruit and cereals. Pancakes and muffins are popular breakfast food too. Some people do not eat any breakfast at all but simply have a cup of coffee.
Lunch often consists of a BLT (bacon, lettuce, tomato) sandwich, hamburgers of various types, hot dogs or pizza.
Many people in the U.S. have dinner between 5 and 7 o’clock. It is often the biggest meal of the day when fried steak or fish and chips are served. Then there is a dessert.
Many Americans like to have lunch and dinner out – at snack bars, fast food restaurants or more expensive restaurants. Those, who want to eat at home without preparing the meal, can use take-away services. Some meals, especially pizza, can also be ordered to be delivered home. On some occasions Americans like to eat outdoors and have picnics or barbecues.

My opinion about fast food – sometimes I go there and I buy something small such as cheeseburger or chickenburger. But I’m pretty glad that we don’t have any fast food in ZDAR. It tastes pretty well even though it’s just the empty calories as my mother says.. MC Donald, Burger King, KFC…
